My journey started on July 11, 2023, when I was told I have Stage IIA invasive Ductal carcinoma breast cancer. I opted to undergo a lumpectomy procedure and bilateral reconstructive surgery on Friday, September 22 at the UPMC Magee Women's hospital under the care of my doctors, Dr. Emilia Diego and Dr. Brodie Parent. I know my journey has only just begun and there are still a few things that are unknown, but what I do know is that I will overcome this through STRENGTH and COURAGE; I have chosen FAITH over fear, and no matter what, I will fight and I will kick cancer’s ass!” Come join the fight and show your support for Samantha and all other women battling breast cancer as "No One Fights Alone"! Joey Fabus was an 8 year old boy when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in May 2014. His cancer was Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and the current survival rate is 0%. Most children afflicted with this disease die within 9-12 months of diagnosis. On January 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family, Joey died from DIPG. Current treatment options have not been successful. More research and funding are desperately needed. The Joey Fabus Childhood Cancer Foundation (JFCCF) began in honor of Joey Fabus to let the world know what an amazing boy he was, to raise awareness, and to raise funds to be donated to successful DIPG research facilities throughout the world in hope that a cure will be found for this awful disease.
